Thursday, October 20th Mochilla & Hit+Run present “MOCHILLA REMIXED” at the Townhouse Gallery in Venice. Some of our favorite visual artists have flipped the classic Mochilla logo, originally designed by Stephen Serrato – check out Augustine Kofie’s version (included). On opening night, these logo remixes will be on display alongside iconic photographs by Mochilla founders B+ and Coleman. Each has selected specia…l photo selects from their vast collection for this exhibition that runs from October 20th-November 12th.

As a follow up to the original LA Vs. WAR show held in April 2008, LA Vs. War returns as a massive three-day experiential art exhibition and cultural event presenting some of today’s most prolific, pro-peace/anti-war and political artists in multi-media.

LA Vs. WAR II will commemorate the tenth anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks. Artists from LA and beyond will examine the questions: After 10 years of the Global War …on Terror, where do we now stand as a nation? Is the world a safer place? Where does the Peace movement go from here?

About LA Vs. War II
LA Vs. WAR II is a not-for-profit project that will live on past the September 2011 Los Angeles event under the name Vs. WAR. The show will evolve and travel to other cities bringing its unique model of creative resistance and collaboration to other communities. Originally organized out of the Yo! Peace poster show, the first LA Vs. WAR welcomed 6000 attendees and gained widespread impact on a national scale.

About John Carr / LA Vs. War Creator & Curator
John Carr is an internationally acclaimed artist, designer and curator based in downtown Los Angeles. He is the curator of Yo! What Happened to Peace? a traveling peace/antiwar poster exhibition and editor of a poster art book by the same name. In 2008 Carr created LA Vs. War, earning the Center for the Study of Political Graphics “Art as a Hammer” award for his achievements.
